Bailey Bridge Installation Completed on Arughat Bridge Connecting Dhading and Gorkha
Dhading, October 19: The installation of a Bailey bridge at the damaged Arughat Bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River, which connects Dhading and Gorkha districts, has been completed. The Nepal Army has completed the installation work and handed over the bridge to the Gorkha Road Project.
On October 11, flooding in the Budhi Gandaki River washed away approximately 22 meters of the bridge on the Gorkha side, disrupting transportation along this road section. The damage caused significant difficulties for local residents and travelers.
The Bailey bridge, installed through coordination between the Nepal Army and the Gorkha Road Project, is approximately 27.43 meters long and 4.2 meters wide.
With the bridge's restoration, transportation between Dhading and Gorkha is expected to become easier. It is also expected to facilitate the transportation of relief supplies and essential goods to flood-affected areas.
